Who are we?
Vii Films is a London based collective of multi Award winning and Oscar® and BAFTA-nominated filmmakers and journalists focused on challenging conventions and redefining boundaries through film and storytelling.
Vii Films aims to produce inspiring and enlightening films, documentaries and corporate communications, with a bold approach to storytelling, empowering the voiceless and inspiring audiences around the world.
We also offer bespoke media training in the fields of film, TV, journalism and PR.
Salwa Amor
founder & CEO
The founding member of Vii Films, Salwa Amor has produced documentary films that have won numerous awards, including Emmys, Sony Impact, Broadcast Awards, Grissom, Amnesty International, Women in TV & Film, Rory Peck as well as garnering nominations for BAFTA & Royal Television Society awards.
Amor has 17 years experience in TV and Print having worked with the BBC, ITN, Channel 4, MBC, Al Arabiya, Al Jazeera English, The Telegraph, Reuters, CNN, Sky News and Euro News.
She holds a post graduate Masters degree in Creative Media and writes academic papers for various publishers.
Basil Khalil
creative director
An Oscar & Palme d’Or nominated writer and director, Basil has over 20 years of experience in film, television and branded content.
His debut feature A GAZA WEEKEND premiered at the 2022 Toronto International Film Festival, winning the FIPRESCI prize. Previous to that he directed the Oscar nominated short film AVE MARIA that premiered in Cannes before going on to screen at more than 250 festivals and winning over 40 international awards.
Basil holds an MA in Screen Project Development from Screen Academy Scotland, and is a voting member of AMPAS for the Oscars.
